Horizon International Schools celebrated 10 Year International Programme success on August 29, 2015 in Chatrium Hotel. There was amazing interest for the programme with the grand hall filled with full capacity.
Students, graduates, parents and guests attended the ceremony to mark this day and recognise achievements earned for the last 10 years through the International Programme.
Students and teachers were awarded on this day and their success was recognised through performances by famous singers Ms Zin Mar Myint@Irene and Mr Kaung Kaung. This was followed by excellent performances by IB Diploma students, Aung Hein Oo@Robert, Pyae Hein Htet@Steven and Candy.
Gold medalists and teachers were awarded for their success in the International Programme. The awarding was also given to T – Shirt slogan competition winner, Zaw Myint Tun from grade 7 who studies at Po Sein campus of Horizon International Schools. The winning slogan was ‘All Great Things Take Time’. The art exhibition was also held to celebrate this day during the event. Students from all campuses contributed through their art skills that reflected on their painting.
Special thanks were sent to Mr. Mehmet Koylu, the Programme coordinator in previous academic years for his contributions to the overall success of the International Programme.
The International Programme, which started in 2006, has been designed to prepare students for international competitions, International Olympiads, sports tournaments, cultural fairs, international festivals and international exhibitions.
The aim of this programme is to provide opportunity for students to experience high standard international education and learning through academic programmes, international and cultural fairs, travel, trips, social and collaborative activities and moral guidance.
Representing Myanmar
Students from Horizon International Schools represent Myanmar in these competitions and the competitions are attended by many countries where sometimes number of participating countries reach up to more than 140.
Success since 2006
Since 2006, Horizon International Schools’ students have earned more than 170 medals including 26 golden, 73 bronze and 71 silver medals.
Traveling since 2006
Students travelled to more than 20 countries such as the USA, Azerbaijan, Argentina, South Africa, South Korea, Iran, Brazil, Turkey, Germany, Georgia, Kenya, Nigeria, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Romania, Netherlands, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand and China.
Learning Areas
The International projects or Olympiads are developed in certain learning areas such as mathematics, science, environment, arts, ICT, design, language, biology, physics, chemistry, robotics, dance, singing, sports and etc.
International Cultural Fairs
Attending the International Programme also allows students to be part of international culture fairs where students reflect cultural elements such as wearing longyi, thanakha, explaining about Myanmar culture, traditions, history, geography and other elements. They also get to learn a lot from other cultures and traditions from students who travel from different parts of the world.
