Horizon International School students achieved amazing results in Singapore oriented Singapore and Asian Schools Mathematics Olympiad, which is well known as SASMO. SASMO is an annual mathematics competition organized for students from Grade 2 to Grade 9 levels. Every year, in April, participants from around 15 countries show their mathematical skills and talents.
This year, too, Horizon International Schools participated in the competition with more than 50 students from 3 campuses on April 9, 2015. It was a great moment for all Horizon family when the results were announced mirroring the amazing achievement. Horizon International Schools Mandalay campus won the 1st place in the team category having past another Horizon team, Horizon International Schools Yangon campus team, which was champion of 2014 competition.
In the individual category Horizon International Schools got 3 golden, 12 silver, 12 bronze and 7 merit awards. Awards were presented on May 30, Saturday in Sky Star Hotel in Yangon. The medal winner students are also invited to an upper level competition, Asian International Math Olympiad 2015, which will be held in Bangkok during the last week of July.
Horizon students earned 2 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze and 4 merit awards in SASMO 2014, and 2 bronze medals in AIMO 2014. Therefore in 2015 they have made an amazing progress with 34 medals in individual categories as well as closing the top 2 places in teams’ category.
As Horizon International Schools, we are proud of our students who achieved these great results and we are looking forward to AIMO where our students will represent their country in the continental competition.
